rounds of ammunltlon, enable a shooter to Injure and klll many people
wlthout needlrw to reload. These magazlnes are frequently used In mass
shootlngs, Includlng those whlch occurred In Aurora, Tucson, Columblne,
Vlrglnla Tech, and 101 Callfornla Street In San Franclsco. Federal law does
not regulate these magazlnes, although they were Illegal under the now-
explred 1994 federal assault weapons ban. Only a handful of states prohlblt
them today.
