Hellboy in Mexico, or A Drunken Blurwas a
very fine book. Richard Corben is an amazing artist,
and I think the team of Mignola and Corben is great.
That being said, I do have a question.
On page 22 of the story Esteban takes off his
mask to reveal the horror inflicted upon him by the
vampires. The final struggle continues (sans mask)
until Hellboy lifts Esteban into the air and then
slams him onto one of the corner poles, effectively
staking the wrestler and ending his life (page 24). At
which time the mask magically reappears!
I'm sure there's a perfectly good explanation?
Dirk Bauman
I don't have the book handy, but I do have aper-
fectly good explanation: artistic license.
