Special Project & UROP Opportunities Available
Overview — Developmental Innovations (Dl) is an emerging multi-faculty research
theme at the Institute. Our goal is to advance international development & the
betterment of humanity. We seek UROP students to participate in the process at all
stages of research, from basic ideation through field-testing & deployment.
Potential Research Themes — Faculty & labs from throughout MIT are pursuing
research with tremendous development implications. Everyone is unified in our
interest in advancing international development; we are differentiated by studying
different problems, drawing upon different disciplines, & trying different solutions.

Student Role — Each student will work collaboratively with faculty & fellow
students on a focused development research project. Activities may include
interviewing company founders, administering surveys, performing market
research, datamining venture capital & corporate databases, and more.
Signing up — Open to dedicated undergraduate students whose personal &
professional interests are highly aligned with our research themes. We want this to be
a mutually beneficial experience which will help change the world for the better!
