I collect vintage vinyl records. Votes: 4
Water doesn't hurt a vinyl record. Put it into a dishwasher and you're fine. Votes: 4
There's no question that a vinyl record is a lot nicer than a CD. It's nicer to hold in your hands, you can do more with it. Votes: 4
It's also ironic that in the old days of tape and tape hiss and vinyl records and surface noise, we were always trying to get records louder and louder to overcome that. Votes: 4
We have a secret project at Third Man where we want to have the first vinyl record played in outer space. We want to launch a balloon that carries a vinyl record player. Votes: 4
When we were making vinyl records we had a lot of time limitations for each record so songs were left off for a number of reasons. Now, with CDs, much more music can be included. Votes: 4
Vinyl is the real deal. I've always felt like, until you buy the vinyl record, you don't really own the album. And it's not just me or a little pet thing or some kind of retro romantic thing from the past. It is still alive. Votes: 4
You can't really take a vinyl record player on a plane so you're not going to have the same experience, but if you walk yourself away and allow yourself to experience these different moments with music, you're so much richer in experience for that. That's what I believe. Votes: 3
I buy records - vinyl. I have a record player at home. Votes: 2
I have a lot of vinyl, but I only buy old records on vinyl. Like secondhand. It's too expensive otherwise. Votes: 2
I still love records, and I've been fortunate that my parents bought me a record player so I didn't just have my vinyls to stare at! Votes: 2
My kids love vinyl, I had to teach them how to put the needle on the records. Now they're worried about scratching the records, but it's incredible! Votes: 2
It was so exciting to go to the record shop and buy a piece of vinyl and hold it, read the liner notes, look at the pictures. Even the smell of the vinyl. Votes: 2
My favorite song as a boy was definitely 'Downtown' recorded by Petula Clark. I still love it! And the original cast recording of 'Gypsy'; I played my mother's cast recordings until there was no vinyl left. Votes: 2
Well, everybody faces the fact there really aren't many records stores around to just go and browse. Maybe browse online, yet that tactile feel of flipping through a stack of vinyl remains one of life's simple pleasures. Votes: 2
Our first record didn't come out on vinyl, so I think that might have had something to do with actually being in a position to make sure that it came out in vinyl this time. It sounds way better. Votes: 2
I remember opening up my first vinyl and seeing the incredible artwork it had. There's nothing like it. You also get that true gritty sound on vinyl that really makes a rock record sound great, which CDs can never achieve. Votes: 2
I believe in doing vinyl. As long as vinyl can still be made into a high-quality standard, I'm going to still make all my records as a side A and a side B because that's how I grew up listening to music. Votes: 2
I love Rebel Rebel in Manhattan's West Village for vinyl, but record stores are hard to come by these days. I almost don't even use iTunes. I mostly use music subscription services. But I'll go into Rebel Rebel once a month or so and buy everything I love on vinyl. Votes: 2
I definitely love record stores. And worked in many over the years. Having said that, it's not necessarily that I love vinyl per se. I mean, I'm happy to use CDs and MP3s: to me, it's the music that's top priority. I do have a good collection of vinyl, but I rarely actually pull it out. Votes: 2
I inherited this collection of vinyl records, which at that time numbered 6,000, and I've since continued to collect music. As you know, vinyl records can be very heavy, so every time I have to move into a new house, I need to build a complete new wall of shelves to put all these records, which is a nightmare for the architect. I'm a record collector. I'd spend all my pocket money on vinyl. Votes: 0
I love that vinyl is actually growing in popularity, and that there are so many great record stores. Votes: 0
I do love the ceremony of putting on a record but I don't have space for a vinyl collection. Votes: 0
I'm a big collector of vinyl - I have a record room in my house - and I've always had a huge soundtrack album collection. Votes: 0

There's so much plastic in this culture that vinyl leopard skin is becoming an endangered synthetic. Votes: 6 Lily Tomlin
